Mike Slessor
Dr. Mike Slessor has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of MicroProbe since July 2008. He also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Astria Semiconductor, a venture-backed company formed in the same year to acquire and merge MicroProbe and The Micromanipulator Company, a supplier of analytical probing equipment.
Prior to joining Microprobe, Dr. Slessor held various management, product-marketing, and applications-engineering positions in the semiconductor industry, most notably with KLA-Tencor, where he led marketing and applications for the company’s fastest growing division. In addition, Dr. Slessor held roles in thin films and photolithography process engineering at Honeywell Electronic Materials, and served as Managing Director of the Office of Technology Transfer at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
Dr. Slessor received his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Physics from Caltech and his B.A.Sc. in Engineering Physics (First Class Honors) from the University of British Columbia.
Gary Martell
Gary Martell has served as Chief Financial Officer since May 2009. He brings more than 22 years of experience in financial and operational management to his role at MicroProbe.
Mr. Martell most recently served as Chief Financial Officer of Stion Corp., a solar photovoltaic company. From 2006 to 2008 he served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of UPEK, a biometric semiconductor security company. Prior to that, Mr. Martell served as Chief Financial Officer of Orbital Data Corp., a leading provider of network optimization solutions. Mr. Martell has also held several senior management positions including Vice President of Network Storage Operations at Sun Microsystems and Chief Operating Officer at Cobalt Networks, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Sun Microsystems in 2000.
Mr. Martell holds a B.S. in Finance and Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Juergen Woehl
Dr. Juergen Woehl has served as Chief Operating Officer since March 2011. He brings more than 25 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and R&D from the semiconductor industry to the company.
From 2006 to 2011 Mr. Woehl served as Vice President of Manufacturing and General Manager at International Rectifier. Prior, Mr. Woehl worked in a variety of management roles in manufacturing, engineering and R&D for ON Semiconductor, Sematech, Infineon and IBM.
Dr. Woehl received his Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University, his B.S. in chemistry from Fachhochschule Aalen / Germany and his MBA from St.Edwards University, Austin, Texas.
David Browne
David Browne has served as Vice President of Sales and Business Development since March 2010. He brings more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing from the storage and semiconductor industries to the company.
From 2000 to 2010, Mr. Browne held various senior management positions with FormFactor, including Vice President of Marketing and Senior Director of Sales. Mr. Browne started his sales career with Komag, where he served as Director of Sales from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Browne worked in a variety of engineering and management positions with Maxtor and ReadRite.
Mr. Browne holds a B.S. in Physics, from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo.
January Kister
Jarek (January) Kister has served as Vice President Engineering and Chief Technical Officer since April 2004. He brings more than 20 years of experience in product engineering, innovation and IP development in semiconductor test, to Microprobe.
Before joining the company, Mr. Kister served as Vice President of Engineering with Kulicke & Soffa, Test Division from 2000 to 2004. From 1990 to 2000, Mr. Kister served as Director of Engineering and later as Chief Technical Officer with Probe Technology, Inc. He holds more than 30 U.S. patents.
Mr. Kister holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Polytechnic of Silesia, Poland. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
Amy Leong
Amy Leong has served as Vice President of Marketing since March 2010. She brings extensive experience in semiconductor probe card marketing and in-depth knowledge in semiconductor and storage industries from front-end wafer fabrication and metrology to back-end test and packaging.
Prior to joining MicroProbe, Ms. Leong worked at Gartner, Inc. as a Research Director from 2008 to 2010 and covered the ASSP, system-on-chip and microcontroller markets. From 2003 to 2008, Ms. Leong worked at FormFactor where she served as Senior Director of Corporate Strategic Marketing and Director of DRAM Product Marketing. Prior to FormFactor, Ms. Leong worked in a variety of semiconductor process engineering and product marketing roles at KLA-Tencor and IBM.
Ms. Leong holds an M.S. in Material Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
